BJC has been operating for 100 years and we would like to restore the brand to its rightful place.
For a number of weeks now, BJC has been part of the Czech group Elko EP, which specialises in automation solutions, electronic relays and smart home systems. This deal marks the start of a new chapter for BJC, with the backing of a company that has successfully grown as an independent business, combining tradition, innovation and a strong technical focus.
Jiri Konečný, Founder and CEO of ELKO EP, is at the helm of this new partnership. His story is one of a forward-thinking entrepreneur: “In 1993, as a young electronics engineer in my father’s garage, I was working with switching units for electric heating systems. Later, I switched to timer relays, for which we remain global leaders to this day”.
Jiri now heads a group of companies with over 330 employees and a presence in more than 70 countries. He chose the BJC brand because of the value of its legacy and the opportunities it offers in the Spanish market: “We would like to restore the BJC brand to its rightful place”, he says. And he also adds: “I am absolutely certain that this company, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year, is worth it”. In this new era, it will be headed locally by Óscar Embid, a professional with a long track record within BJC. “Oscar is an experienced manager who is familiar with all of BJC’s processes”, he remarks.
